My Favorite Scott Note in a While…

I’ll admit…I’m the one who took the marker.

Scott’s notes might be one of my favorite things about my internship. At first, my feelings were a little hurt by the tone of the notes since they’re a bit…direct.

Por Ejemplo:
“Intern Pete, do a better job entering data. The letter F is not, and never will be, a number.”
But, that changed once I started finding some of the other notes that Scott writes for the team.

Here are just a few:
“Debbie, I tried to eat some cereal at the kitchen table, but I noticed that you have turned the table, which is supposed to be a breakfast and dinner place for EVERYONE into your own personal office without stopping to think of how the rest of us would eat food. I had to wander around eating my cereal like a caveman. A little consideration would be much appreciated!”

“Chase, Couldn’t help but notice that you have missed two storms because you were nowhere to be found when we took off. Great job! Keep it up and see what happens!”

“Frosty! If you post ONE MORE PICTURE OF ME ON YOUR PHOTO BLOG I WILL THROW ALL OF YOUR CAMERAS INTO LOW EARTH ORBIT! Thanks! Scott.”

I was under the impression that he was maybe just not very nice, but then I found a reminder note he wrote to himself.
“Hey idiot! Turn in your semester grades on time for once. I mean, is it that hard for you to do?”
I think that’s just how he writes notes.

  1. Pete, your blog is amazing! The life of a storm chaser intern seems pretty interesting, especially with the people you work with..like your boss Scott there.

  2. Being a storm chase intern is great! A lot of my friends are doing different internships this summer, but I think mine is the most fun (no offense guys! I'm sure interning at accounting firms must be very fun :P) Working for Scott can be a little stressful at times, like the time last week when I sorta, kinda, maybe forgot to bring the maps along on a chase - and he spent half an hour making his patented I'm-trying-not-to-yell-but-I-really-want-to-yell face. but it's worth it when we're up close and personal with a supercell that's ready to produce some mega-serious weather. That's when it's easy to see why he's one of the best in the field - he can just LOOK at a storm system and know what it's going to do next. It's pretty impressive.

  3. I like his note to Debbie "I had to wander around eating my cereal like a caveman." :D That's happened to me before, and that describes it perfectly.

  4. I know! But now every time I picture a caveman - he's got a club in one hand, and a bowl of cereal in the other (and a confused expression!)

I wonder what a caveman's favorite cereal would be? Sabre-tooth n' Oat Clusters? Spearios? Cinna-Mammoth Crunch(the wild and woolly cereal with mammoth cinnamon flavor!)?
